I hope to see a lot more recording artists doing what Mike Skinner did via Twitter. Whilst recording his fifth and final album last year he took the very brave step of allowing his fans to hear a selection of his songs in-the-making and actually communicated with us and our opinions on how the songs where sounding, it was thrilling to say the least to experience a recording artist care so much about their work and fans. After all the excitement sampling the songs in progress, his 74'000 (...and still growing) followers are begging for the release of the new album. Interaction direct from the artist with the music buyer is crucial in my opinion and Mike Skinner definitely pioneered a pleasurable way of introducing his music to hardcore fans and right across the music industry via Twitter and his own skinnerblog.com too.
